Being in business as long as we have, it's fairly safe to assume we have seen just about everything when it comes to fitting fires & fireplaces!
With that in mind we have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions that our customers have asked us over the years.
- Question 1
- Is it possible for someone to come down to my house to see what needs to be done?
- A: No Problem, we charge £35 for a home visit by a qualified CORGI registered gas engineer. He will be able to answer all of your questions and would also clarify the suitability of the products for your home situation. Plus if you go ahead and order from us the £35 is refundable against the purchase so the expert advice would not have cost you a thing.
- Question 2
- Who fits the new fireplace?
- A: We Do we can carry out all of the work required. The removal of the existing fire & fireplace, making good and installing the new one
- Question 3
- How long does it take to install the new fireplace?
- A: Typically it takes us a morning to complete an installation however it does depend on the type and size of the job
- Question 4
- If I order today how long will I have to wait?
- A: Again this would depend on what you order but on average 4 weeks is the time delay form you placing the order to us installing it.
- Question 5
- Do I need to have the chimney swept?
- A: It is a good idea to have the chimney swept prior to your new fireplace being fitted. We can arrange all of this for you.
- Question 6
- What if I do not have a gas supply at the chimney?
- A: We can run the gas supply for you from the nearest suitable point to the fireplace.
- Question 7
- I do not have a chimney; can I still have a gas fire?
- A. In a lot of cases the answer is yes you could still have a gas fire. On the market are fan flued gas fires and some flueless fires. All may not be lost we could ascertain the suitability of these products on a Home Survey.
- Question 8
- Our chimney has been removed downstairs but it is still upstairs and in the loft up to the chimney, could you rebuild the chimney breast in our lounge?
- A: Yes, we can undertake all work of that nature.
- Question 9
- I love this stone fireplace but it is to big to fit onto our chimney breast, can you make it smaller?
- A: In a lot of cases the answer is yes we can customise many of our fireplaces to fit your requirements
- Question 10
- I love this mantelpiece but I prefer that other marble back panel & hearth. Can I change it?
- A: Again in over 90% of fireplaces you can mix and match the back panels & hearths.
- Question 11
- Does this type of fire give off much heat?
- A: There are many different types of gas fires ranging from DGF (Decorative Gas Fires) that give off little heat through to Convector Fires that will not only look good but will produce a lot of heat. Different models available for all of the various situations that people want to create within their home.
